Former Mochudi Centre Chiefs captain, Pontsho Moloi has joined Extension Gunners as an assistant coach on a two-year contract.
Moloi recently left Chiefs, amid murmurs of disapproval from fans who wanted him to stay. However, he has not stayed long in the 'unemployed bay' with the popular Lobatse giants quickly snatching him up.
'I am happy to have joined Gunners. Just like Chiefs, they are a big team and I hope to win things with them,' Moloi said.
Although just 36-years-old, Moloi has already garnered enough experience as a reliable number two after deputising Bongani Mafu and then Innocent Morapedi over two seasons.
The former nippy winger was thrown into the deep end at a club that struggled for financial resources.
Gunners had similar problems last season, but optimism is high following the election of a new committee led by Tariq Babitseng.
'I spoke to the chairperson, and they want the team to do better than last season. I can't say where we will finish.'
Gunners had a poor season, failing to make the top eight as they could only finish ninth, putting added weight on Moloi, and new care taker coach, Enos Mmesi.
Mmesi is interim coach as the club awaits a Spaniard, who was employed by the previous committee.
'I am happy with the technical team. They will have to tell me who they want to sign and if we do that, I will be very happy,' new chairperson, Babitseng said.
He said they want Gunners to finish inside the top eight looking at their position, where the team had no pre-season, and lost key player, Mothusi Cooper to champions, Township Rollers.
