On July 30, 2018 in Block 3, Gaborone Kerekang’s boyfriend, Simon Badisa Kgowe allegedly murdered her, cut off her head and cast aside her body in Maratanang ward in Tlokweng.

Appearing before Magistrate Batho Kgerethwa, representing the prosecution, chief prosecution counsel Thato Dibeela told the court that the police are still following leads into the recovery of the deceased’s missing head.

“The deceased was buried without her head and the police are working around the clock to locate the missing head.  Investigations are also ongoing to locate and arrest the other two suspects linked to the offence.

We plead for further detention of the accused person so that he can assist the police to locate them as well as the missing part of the deceased’s body,” Dibeela said.

Representing Kgowe, attorney Gosiame Digangwa told the court that they would not pursue bail yet to allow the prosecution to carry out its investigations.

Kgowe is due in court again on August 31.
