Well Fifty Shades Darker gave some hope on Valentine’s Day as this beautiful love story showed many how to enjoy love, this movie is a global phenomenon as it is the second film in the Fifty Shades film series based on the novel of the same name by E. L. James. It is the heir to 2015 mega-blockbuster Fifty Shades OF Grey.
The book is a trilogy series, hence Fifty Shades Darker is the first sequel and is to be succeeded by Fifty Shades Freed in the not so distant future. In this one correcting mistakes is one of the focal points and above all it is the fact that everyone yearns to be loved unconditionally or the Fifty Shades way as their dream relationship goal. “Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) tries to entice a cautious Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) back into his life. She demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance. As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle them, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.” This film that got lovers drooling on Valentine’s Day was surprisingly directed by a not so popular female director James Foley, having directed relatively unknown films amongst others.
Action
In this crowd favourite screenplay, it seduces one’s romantic skills in the sense that Fifty Shades Darker is loaded with tonnes of obscene adult moments. It had theatres filled to the rafters with couples lining up for the latest romantic tips. What I actually love about the film is the fact that it has an authentic plot it encapsulates things that happen in reality. For instance, Christian demonstrates some very exclusive romantic antics much to the delight of ladies. In reality this taught other couple how to energise/reignite their fading relationship sparks. This drama explores the essential themes of love, commitment, marriage and lust amongst others. One other thing is the fact that it serves as great escapes and fantasies for viewers, which may explain the huge turn out the movie received during the weekend being sold out as couples wanted to relate with their love experiences.
When watching this film you can pick a lot of things that relate to relationships in our generation. It taught people including yours truly that the best case scenario in order to have a successful relationship one has to swallow their pride and accommodate their partner’s shortcomings. The film is also relatable in the sense that people do not have to cheat to be happy. One partner can satisfy one’s need just fine as is the case with our featured couple in the movie. Also in a relationship you have to cherish your partner because if you do not, there is always someone who is eagerly waiting in queue to capitalise on your shortcoming. That is one of power words of wisdom the drama has wrapped in between the lines. The cinema was abuzz with chuckles and giggles as Anna showed the viewers how to be romantic in public with your partner. Her performances epitomised the wit of this film with some jaw dropping public indecency moments. It is also very hilarious as it showed how to be super creative in the heat of the moment. This blockbuster is very inspirational as it has a very seductive cinematography that features some very sentimental melodies that also compliment the story as it unfolds. Lastly it teaches some young couples that a relationship is meant for two people; a third party complicates matters.

According to box office this romantic blockbuster scored a whopping US$46 million dollars on its premiere weekend before going on to cash in a staggering US$148 million worldwide cash sales. This is a good reception considering the movie came from a production budget of US$55 million.

This is a very powerful play that had a very influential wishing and hoping for such fantasy relationships on Valentine. It is slightly above average. I feel it deserves a 7.5/10
