Following his move from Orapa to Jwaneng, Moyo was initially linked with a transfer to Jwaneng Galaxy from Orapa United. However speaking at the club’s press briefing on Saturday, club spokesperson, Archibald Ngakayagae said they have never had any contact with the player.

“We have never had any engagements with the player. Like other people, we hear that he has found employment at the mine but that is just that. At the moment he is not with Jwaneng Galaxy,” he said.

Chairperson, Njabulo Gilika said they have registered 25 players and five young ones as per the Botswana Football Association (BFA) requirements and that Moyo is not part of that squad.  Galaxy have made significant signings after finishing as runners up in the league for the second successive time. They have roped in the likes of Kutlwelo Mpolokang, Karabo Phiri and Lebogang Ditsile and released amongst others, Boitumelo Mafoko and Sekhana Koko.

Koko has since joined Mochudi Centre Chiefs. They have since sent an early warning with a 5-0 drubbing of Prisons XI in their first league game of the season on Saturday. Addressing the media on Saturday, Gilika said they are targeting every silverware at their disposal this season.

He said they have done so much in just their four years of existence. He said they would have loved to defend the Mascom Top 8 title last season and to win the league only to finish second again. “Our target is to do better every season and for us to do that we will have to win the Top 8 and the league. That is our target,” he said.

He said although it is a concern that there is just too much turnover of coaches at the club, they are usually forced by circumstances. During their four years of existence, Galaxy have already been under the tutelage of five coaches.

They have been drilled by amongst others Oris Radipotsane, Mike Sithole, Philani Mabena and Zlatko Krmpotic. Following the departure of the latter, the club has brought in Manuel Da Costa to head the technical team for a season.

Krmpotic could not stay further than his six-month contract after failing to agree terms with the current log leaders when the agreement expired.
