Kontle has managed to defy all odds and penetrate the neighbouring market through his company, Hope T Consulting, which offers motivational speaking, team building, and wellness just to mention.

With just his Degree in Theology, Kontle was brave enough to then relocate to South Africa in pursuit of his dreams after eight months of trying to kickstart his motivational speaking business in Botswana with no luck.

“By then I was just fresh from school and the market locally was not lucrative. I then took a bold step and relocated to Pretoria. I did not have any contact, no friend, no place to stay but just my dream to follow,” he said.

According to Kontle, after landing in the streets of Pretoria, he started washing cars, helping people park their cars and using the money to buy food and leave some to make copies of his company profile Kontle Consulting.“I did copies everyday and submitted them to different companies. Every time I had to carry my bag with me because there were spots where I could sleep. Sometimes I would sleep at one of the security guard’s office that became my friend and would bring him food in turn,” he said.

After four months of sweating and hustling without despair, Kontle got a call which gave him hope as one of the companies he had submitted his profiles offered him a R16, 000 worth gig. Even though it was a good start, it took him another seven months to finally get a gig that turned his life around.

Kontle got a contract to give mentorship to students, which kept him busy, enabling him to invest some of the profit in an electrical engineering company.

He further shared his dreams of expanding his business by opening an office locally, noting that the motivational business has now gained momentum.

In addition, Kontle through his company, would soon start conducting workshops locally as they are in talks with some companies. He also encouraged entrepreneurs not to limit themselves within the borders of the countr,y highlighting that Botswana is a well-resourced country.

“I am happy than now our craft is being recognised. I want to urge all upcoming motivational speakers to do it with passion as it takes a lot of practice, learning and a lot of research,” he said.

Kontle has also worked with radio and television personality Dineo Ranaka on their successful ‘He said, She said’ campaign.
