During an interview with Showbiz, VoC president and founder Lunga Kgosikoma said VoC is a group of young Christians with different talents who decided to come together under one roof to inspire and motivate young people. He said since the group was established a year ago, they found it fit to take it to Batswana.

“We aim to groom young talent and prepare it for a better platform in the arts. We are gospel oriented group which is focused on different types of arts like music, dance, poetry and motivational speaking,” he said.

Kgosikoma said during their launch, they will be doing pieces from their own compositions. He added that they will also be doing re-arranged pieces of some of the renowned gospel songs. Even though the group consists of multi talented singers, Kgosikoma said VoC was strictly focusing on promoting gospel music.

“We are dedicated to taking the local gospel music to greater heights because we have realised that Batswana do not give local gospel support that it deserves. Most of them prefer international gospel compared to ours. We have decided to change that as we aim to give them quality and better gospel music,” he said proudly.

The young man said they had previously done well to promote their group. He said in a space of one year, VoC was able to host two successful shows and jamming sessions. He added that during those shows, the number of their followers increased tremendously.

He explained that that was possible because they invested more energy in their work so that they could reach their goals. He said due to hard work and dedication to improve the gospel music genre, they got an overwhelming feedback from their fans.

Kgosikoma pointed out that they worked hard so that they could make a mark in the local music industry. He added that they were in the industry to stay.

“We have so far been able to fill the gap that was in the local gospel industry. Even though we don’t have financiers, we are going to leave what we believe in go to waste because Batswana believe in us,” he said.

He said VoC has a group of 18 vocalists, a set of six musicians, six dancers, a poet and a motivational speaker. At the launch, VoC members will share the stage with a Zimbabwean gospel singer from Zimpraise, Kuda Mutsvene and a local gospel artiste Ottie. Entrance fee will be P150 for a standard ticket, P250 for a VIP that includes refreshment and P350 VVIP including refreshments and VoC merchandise.

Gates will open at 7pm and children under 12 years of age will be allowed free entry.
