Mashaba pays courtesy call to Race family

The 34-year-old Race gave birth to quadruplets boys at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital on August 12, 2018.

During her visit to Race’s family, Mashaba who was brought by the area MP Thapelo Olopeng expressed great gratitude towards the family.

“I am so happy to be here and may God bless this family and the community of Tonota as a whole for the compassion you have shown by building a house for Race,” she said.

Mashaba indicated that she was so humbled by the initiative taken by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development Olopeng, and the people of Tonota for building Race a shelter when she needed it the most.

The multi-award gospel singer said she learnt about Race’s situation through social media, a situation she said shows that Batswana are a big one family that cares for each other.

She said that the decision by the people of Tonota and their MP to mobilise resources to build the two and a half house which will accommodate the new babies and the rest of Race’s family is an essential virtue of humanity.

Mashaba said that she is going to share her heart-warming experience of the community of Tonota and Batswana at large with her fellow South Africans.

She concluded by encouraging some of the people who volunteered to take part in the project to continue with their good deeds because God will shower them with more blessings.

The building of the house dubbed ‘Four Kings Project’ started last week Friday, through Facebook, with the aim to build the house in 10 days.

Before Mashaba visited Race’s family, she handed over 1,000 sanitary pads and towels together with diapers to the community of Tonota through their MP.

The initiative was dedicated to keep the girl child in school during her menstrual cycle.

Unemployed Race already has six children.

In a recent interview, Race who is still at the hospital was over the moon about her God’s new gifts.

She stated that before she gave birth, she did a scan and doctors told her that she was carrying three children but was surprised when she gave birth to four children.
