Foul-mouthed Barolong chief charged

Marumoloa is alleged to have on February 12, 2017 used insults on his subordinates over allegations of backstabbing. According to the charge sheet, Marumoloa is alleged to have uttered the following words; “Ke gore di tribal administrator tsa kgotla e ba rata go seba ka leina lame.

When their buttocks itch, they talk about my name, but I never enter their buttocks, I will beat them and send them back where they come from).
He pleaded not guilty and asked the court to give him a month to secure an attorney.
“I am not guilty. I don’t know anything about the offence but I understand it. I need a month to secure an attorney and I want the prosecution to serve me with the statements of those people who said I uttered those words,” he said.
In another matter, Thabo Dube, one of the accused persons in a case in which three man face charges of allegedly robbing Barcelos restaurant cash amounting to P5,000 and customers cell phones at gunpoint yesterday complained about being detained despite meeting bail conditions.
“My sureties were not allowed to pay for my bail, but they finally managed to pay. I have met bail conditions, I have a receipt as proof of payment but I am still remanded in custody, this is not fair on my side,” Dube said.
His co-accused Tshwanelo Tshimologo pleaded with the magistrate to review his bail conditions, as he does not have money to pay for his release.
“You must consider yourself lucky to have been granted bail by another Magistrate on my absence. I have made it clear to you, I was not going to give you bail and I am not going to alter any conditions,” Dipate said.
Tshepo Batshabane (22), Tshimologo (34) and Dube (32) were arrested on August 15, 2016 after a shootout with the police at a roadblock in Lobatse.
Before the restaurant attack, they are alleged to have robbed Amos Mugufo of his Toyota Corolla at gunpoint at BMC estates and allegedly used the same weapon in the Barcelos robbery before it was retrieved at Ipelegeng JSS the following day.
