A decision was made this week to fire Thipe, who has been on suspension from the executive committee since March. The committee endorsed the disciplinary committee decision, which found Thipe guilty of bringing the association into disrepute.

However, Thipe told Mmegi Sport yesterday that he does not accept the ruling as the committee did not have the power to fire him.  “Those people are not serious.

They might have taken something when passing that ruling. I am not accepting their decision and I am going to appeal,” he said.

Thipe was charged and found guilty on all four counts, which included cancelling the national team’s trip to Poland without authority. On the second count, Thipe, who was the team manager, decided to coach the team in Maputo, Mozambique in February.

He was also found guilty of publishing articles in the media that brought the association under disrepute.

Moreover, Thipe was found guilty of failing to return P1, 000, which he received for the purposes of renting a boxing ring in November 2017. He is said to have taken the money without authority. The ruling stated that after numerous requests, Thipe only returned the money in March 2018.

The BoBA Disciplinary Committee (DC) found him guilty of the offences and recommended that Thipe be removed from his position as vice president and from the executive committee. BoBA executive committee endorsed the ruling this week.
