Speaking at the launch held in Gaborone yesterday Liberty Life managing director, Lulu Rasebotsa said the partnership will bring significant convenience to their unbanked clients as they will no longer need to travel to Liberty Life service points to make payments.

“When interacting with our clients outside Gaborone, we noticed that there was a gap in the market for the unbanked members of society. One of the key reasons why we decided to partner with Orange is that as Liberty Life Botswana, we see it as our responsibility to empower our clients; individuals, small businesses and large corporate institutions in offering the best suitable solutions,” she said.

Rasebotsa further said they have experience in creating solutions that work for and benefit their partners as they took their time to understand their clients’ needs and be able to design appropriate solutions.

“The Orange mobile network covers nearly the entire population of Botswana. In the past year, Orange has had growth in mobile data usages and content and continued excellence in customer experience, so we have no doubt that we have partnered with the right mobile network,” she said. Rasebotsa added that the users of Orange Money will benefit from the partnership as they will have an opportunity to access a diverse mix of Liberty Life products to better manage their future and leave a lasting legacy for their families and dependents, while mitigating against the everyday risks of life.

For his part Orange Botswana chief executive officer, Patrick Benon said they were excited to partner with Liberty Life as the insurance sector contributes to their customers’ quality of life.

“So we are happy that Liberty Life has opened their doors to us. We recognise their zeal in the insurance space as they continue to make their mark.

“This partnership offers greater accessibility and seamless customer experience for both Liberty Life policy holders and Orange Customers by allowing them to pay their premiums using Orange Money,” Benon said.

Orange Money has over the years progressed into a top mobile money service with its services now including cash deposit and withdrawals, mobile transfer of cash from person to person within Botswana, airtime top-up, payment for goods and services such as Dstv, purchase of prepaid electricity, payment of postpaid bills, payment of salaries by companies and payment of plot lease rentals.
