'Give us two weeks to register our party' - Barata-Phathi

He also stated that Kweneng South East MP, Edward Raletobana, told the Barata-Phathi  that he is trying to facilitate mediation between them and BDP president, Ian Khama.

Raletobana  is reported to have met Khama without the blessing of the Barata-Phathi and they discussed the faction's  intention to break away and form a new party.

'After a long discussion it was agreed that Sir Ketumile Masire's mediation effort would be the only way we are following and there is no need for another mediation.

We will negotiate through Masire but I can assure you that Raletobana is still a member of Barata-Phathi, as he has already assured us,' Pilane said.

In an earlier interview this week, Raletobana said he was still a member of the Barata-Phathi faction.
