Club spokesperson, Warrant Kolola confirmed the suspension, but re-assured that the Matjimenyenga boat will not be rocked by the absence of their mentor.

“Yes, I can confirm that we have served the head coach Blessing Moyo with a suspension letter on Wednesday morning.  He is suspended indefinitely,” he said.

Kolola pointed out that they have much respect for their coach, however the suspension came as a way of addressing some nagging problems between the mentor and some players.

“He is a coach we hold in high regard. He has won us many points, but there have been issues with his type of administration, which the players did not like. We had, on about three occasions, summoned the head coach to try and address the issue but they still persist hence the suspension.”

“We are a club that is building a strong foundation for the future and we are basically trying to avoid a situation where matters will go out of control and one party might try and sabotage the other, while in the process affecting the progress of the team.”

Moyo confirmed receiving the suspension letter, but said he could not divulge its contents. He referred all questions to the management. In the interim, assistant coach Elias Chinyemba is holding fort.

Meanwhile, TAFIC increased their lead at the summit of the table to three points ahead of second-placed BR Highlanders. Following last weekend’s loss, Highlanders suffered another blow when a rejuvenated ECCO City Greens held them to a draw in Francistown.

Motlakase Power Dynamos, four points adrift of leaders, but with a game in hand thumped  troubled Satmos 3-1 away in Selebi-Phikwe. Major David Bright’s Morupule Wanderers is slowly making its way up the log standings despite playing to a stalemate away at Maun Tigers. Wanderers have moved one place out of the red zone to position nine.

Sua Flamingoes are breathing heavily on the necks of the top three. They beat Great North Tigers 2-1 to make it three wins in three games they played since the beginning of the year. They have scored nine goals and conceding only two. Chobe United clobbered struggling TASC 2-0 in Kasane.
