Security guards march against abuse and killing of women

According to a letter from the association, in view of the prevalent reports on these horrendous acts against women and the girl, the association decided to take action and condemn such acts.

“As security companies, our number one role is to protect the society from any kind of harm or danger. It is against this backdrop that we found it necessary to join hands and say it is enough. We therefore wish to gather at least a thousand men to take the streets and march against the butchering of women. We challenge each and every male specie to make a pact towards eliminating violence against women,” it noted.

The march will be held in two different places, the North (Orapa/Letlhakane) and South (Gaborone/Tlokweng). The Vice President Slumber Tsogwane is expected to officiate at the event and President Mokgweetsi Masisi or his appointee will be delivering a keynote address. In Gaborone, the March will be end at Tlokweng main kgotla where there will be speeches sensitizing men to refrain from violence against women and the girl child. There will also be prayers against gender violence.
