With their sophomore album motoko still fresh on the music stands, the robete hit makers will get a chance to engage on the business of music and perhaps position themselves in a platform for African emerging talents.

It is the first time Sereetsi & The Natives take part in this event where organisations, small enterprises, artists, and musicians meet to engage in the business of music.

The band’s front man, Tomeletso Sereetsi told Arts & Culture that it’s a big opportunity for them because Moshito is the biggest music conference and exhibition event in Africa.

“The festival brings together festivals, booking agents, artists, music equipment and technology makers and suppliers, and every other industry player imaginable,” he said.

He said amongst other things, the conference has panels that will give them a chance to discuss many pertinent industry issues.

“It also features showcases where artists from various countries perform for festival buyers and booking agents from all over the world. The conference also has a festival that will happen on September 8,” he said.

Launched in 2004 Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition has established itself as a one-stop event for music business.

Moshito’s purpose is to broaden the business intelligence of music industry professionals in Africa, strengthen business networks for participants and inform delegates, traders and the public about the multifaceted and dynamic nature of the global music industry.

The event also includes thematic exhibition hubs offering an attractive value proposition, interactive, experiential, eye-catching exhibitions that drive foot-traffic.

It also houses an innovation hub for delegates that offer meaningful industry tools, products and services.

Amongst others, it has product-testing ground for innovative ideas and technology. Intergenerational African music stories are told through a concert.
