Progressive Institute, IDM Collaborate To Elevate Careers

Organised and curated by Progressive Institute on annual basis, Career Elevation Summit is a two- day event that brings together hundreds of senior-level decision makers from across all industries to learn from business.

Offering a unique blend of ideas and inspiration, the summit focuses on the issues most relevant to today’s workplace, stimulating new and motivating action.

This year’s summit will be held late October under the theme ‘Building a Thriving Career in a Disrupted World of Work’.

Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, chief executive officer of Progressive Institute Mmoloki Mmolotsi said the relationship would be beneficial to both parties in their effort to produce globally competitive workforce.

“Since we started in 2016 we demonstrated commitment to make Batswana leaders to participate at a global stage. We are excited to partner with IDM who have been a sleeping giant.

They are a great brand that led to developing Botswana and it is now time to move the country forward together,” he said.

Mmolotsi said it was important for IDM to join forces with them, as they have been involved with over 300 organisations in their endeavour to respond to the needs of the global market.

“We will also take advantage of IDM’s regional presence to expand and reach more people. This year we bring Mandela Foundation CEO in a bid to create selfless workforce inspired by Nelson Mandela,” he said. IDM regional director, Richard Malikongwa said they were excited as they commit to a collaborative effort they believe will propel their brand forward. “In spite of being a landlocked country, Botswana is a well-placed gateway into southern Africa with access to a market of over 260 million people.

IDM and Progressive Institute want to be game changers in this space just like Israel in the Middle East with no resources, but highly innovative,” he said.

Malikongwa said by creating forums such as the Career Elevation Summit, the two parties endeavour to cultivate the ground for information and experience sharing, at the same time igniting discussions and formulating strong and formidable networks amongst “our many stakeholders to realise their worth and that the sky remains the limit”.
