At Marulamantsi ward Kgosietsile got 41 votes while Raphane got 152. Montwedi got 92 votes while Giddie got 120 votes. Still in that constituency, deputy mayor Kagiso Tshekega of Mosekangwetsi ward was fortunate as his challenger, Shathani Mugwana, withdrew his candidacy two days before elections therefore retaining his ward.  The BNF held its primaries in the three wards.

This was confirmed by BNF spokesperson Justin Hunyepa.

The primary elections for Marulamantsi ward were postponed after the sitting councillor, Kgosietsile made a court application to be declared as an unopposed candidate, but lost.

Justice Omphemetse Motumise had made a ruling that Kgosietsile should cover the costs of the elections in the agreed amount of P2,500. Meanwhile at Takatokwane constituency, Filbert Nagafela has been declared as the Umbrella for Democratic Change candidate for a parliamentary seat.
