Saleshando declared Monday morning that his motor vehicle, Ford Double Cab hit a cow near Makoro Sunday evening as they returned from Selebi-Phikwe where his party welcomed former BDP members at a massive rally in town.

The car, which at the time of the accident was driven by Malolwane village councillor Stephen Makhura, is badly damaged.  But, both Saleshando and Makhura escaped unhurt.

Saleshando joked, “Ba ntsere lonao ma Domkrag” which roughly translated means, BDP members have bewitched him. He would emphasise that because he is the son of man, he escaped unhurt from the accident.

Saleshando was elated that from the past immediate weekend, his party has shaken the BDP to the core in Selebi-Phikwe and they have made it their business to take advantage of the goings on in the ailing town and make hay while the sun shines.

The closure of the BCL Mine in Selebi-Phikwe, which anchored the economy through the copper/nickel mine, has left the former mining giant a ghost town.

The contention of the BCP over the weekend was that the President Mokgweetsi Masisi-led government is to blame for paralysing Selebi-Phikwe into a ghost town by closing the BCL Mine, when there were other options of continuing to operate the mine.

Palapye Police Station traffic officer assistant superintendent Obonetse Tuelo confirmed this week that besides damages to the vehicle, no one was hurt.

Police investigations are continuing.
