Student kills another with a knife

Police efforts to establish what could have caused the fight between the two boys are ongoing whilst the 18-year-old suspect is facing a murder charge.

Reached for a comment the Officer Commanding Reuben Mphoeng confirmed the incident stating that the duo had a fight on the night of August 29, 2018 that left the 16-year-old boy extremely injured.

“The boy had sustained serious injuries as he was later referred to Princess Marina Hospital where he was hospitalised for days until he lost his life on Monday.

Our investigations have established that the deceased and his cousin had intended to go watch television at their neighbours’ that evening.

Unfortunately whilst on the way they got into a misunderstanding that led to a fight with the suspect resulting in the deceased being stabbed with a sharp object,” Mphoeng said, stating that the incident occurred at around 8pm.
