The song carries an authentic Team Distant sound of indigenous beats made during their early days in the industry with BK Proctor on the vocals executing some pop vocals.  This time around BK Proctor is singing throughout the song with no rapping.

“Been doing a lot of collaborations with international artists from different countries such as Nigeria, Zambia and South Africa for my upcoming album and I thought that my album should also have a collaboration with a local act.  Then I approached Team Distant because I love their African influenced sound,” BK Proctor said.

He noted that despite the track being a joint effort it will be his second single from his upcoming album, which is a follow up to the first single, Ekweji that he did with Nigerian artist Jojo.

“As Batswana artists we need each other to grow, which means we have to do collaborations more often. Collaborations help us to tap into each other’s market and grow, we are a small industry, we need each other to grow.  Look at Nigeria it has a huge population and artists are always collaborating that’s why they have grown to be brands,” the Ekweji rapper said.

BK Proctor is well known for doing collaborations with artists from different backgrounds.  On his last album, Masterpiece of Duets he collaborated with different artists such as German Dollar, Samantha Mogwe, Jimmy Dludlu and Vee.

It seems collaborating with BK Proctor came right at time for Team Distant who are busy working on a debut album.  The ensemble expressed some excitement to have worked with him.

“BK Proctor is a legend in his own right.  We were excited when he approached us for a collaboration.  He came with the concept and we also shared what we had.  It really felt good working with him,” Team Distant manager, Pukka Entaile said.  On the Team Distant side Mmangwane Mpulele will be their first single of the year.

“We are working on releasing more singles and collaborations.  2017 will be the year we release our album,” Entaile said.   Team Distant has kept their fans waiting in anticipation for close to three years for this yet-to-be released album.
