The two powerhouses were on a break last weekend. BDF VI had done enough before they took a break, while Police VI were hanging on to their coattails but vulnerable as they dropped to fourth after last weekend’s action.

Kalavango and Kutlwano took advantage of the defending champions lay off and leapfrogged them into second and third respectively. They have both played three more games than Police and are two points above the law enforcers. BDF is four points clear at the top.

On any given day Police will be expected to slice through a Yaros side that sits in mid-table at position eight with 29points. However, the improving Yaros cannot be underestimated.

In the last meeting, the Maun side managed a point in their 3-1 defeat to Police. They have experienced players in Odirile Sibanda whom they roped from Mafolofolo in the past window and national team libero, Tony Orapeleng.

Yaros beat Mafolofolo last weekend and made Kutlwano sweat in a 3-2 defeat. Police coach, Shimaka Ngwanaotile knows better than to undermine any opponents. He said their mission is to win all the games.

He said they are expecting a tough challenge in both their games in Serowe. They play Diphatsa in the second game. Shimaka is not worried about dropping to fourth and believes his players will represent the team well.

“We have got nothing to worry about, the league is ours to lose. We have a number of games in hand against all the teams above us, including BDF and we will climb to the top if we win all of them,” he said.

“We want to win and we can’t underestimate any opponent we face. The teams have improved immensely in the second round and they have been all tough against us. Every side we meet want to beat us, it is the final stretch and we are focused.”

Yaros coach, Mmoloki Gaobone fancies their chance against Police. He said his team is more balanced with the arrival of Sibanda. “He is doing great to lead our players inside the court. We have done well against other top sides and we will be at our best against Police,” he said.

While Police, Yaros and Diphatsa battle in Serowe, BDF, Kutlwano and Itekeng will face up in Jwaneng. Spiking Stars, Mafolofolo and Kalavango will be in action in Molepolole. Yaros and Police’s women sides will play in Serowe.
