This week, the BFA moved to charge Sebego over a series of Facebook posts that the mother body deems inappropriate and bring the game of football into disrepute.

As a result, Sebego is charged on four counts, emanating from posts from as far as October 5, 2017.

On the first count, the association said its name and that of its structures and officials had been brought into disrepute when Sebego wrote “BNOC Elections…iTowers is back!Envelopes shall roll. I have seen envelopes killing my sport!”

The BFA said Sebego’s statement alleged that elections were marred by corrupt practices of buying votes.

On the second count, Sebego is said to have accused the BFA officials of being cowards who employ unorthodox methods to stop people from standing for elections.

“The said words were derogatory, defamatory and brought the good name of the BFA officials into disrepute,” said BFA in its charge sheet.

On the third count, the Notwane president is accused of referring to BFA officials as spineless and evil, lacking self esteem.

BFA said the words were derogatory and brought the association’s good name into disrepute. On the last count, Sebego is said to have accused BFA of facilitating the breach of its own governing statutes and accused it of being run by a devil.

But Sebego, expected to mount a campaign against incumbent BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti in 2020, said he had been insulted and disrespected through the charge.“The contents on the face of it are unclear and ambiguous. I shall be seeking clarity on the contents for my appreciation before taking any step. I find the letter insultive, petty and very disrespectful of my person,” Sebego said.
