Master KG Thrills At GIMC Festival

The much-hyped music festival quenched the thirst of the young fun lovers. But it was South African artist, Master KG who was the man of the moment.
The 22-year-old was not part of the initial line up, but was included following pressure from the public. In a star-studded line up that included award winning performers like Nasty C, Lady Zamar, Sjava and Vee Mampeezy, it was the Limpopo-born who ‘owned’ the crowd on a rather cold Saturday night.
Real name, Kgaugelo Moagi, Master KG stepped onto the stage just before 2am with his followers waiting anxiously to see the instant hit maker. He started off with the popular song Situation before performing Deleta and Waya Waya.
But it was hit song, Skeleton Move, which features vocalist Zanda Zakura that had the crowd eating from his palm. Before the electrifying performance by Master KG, South African artist, Sjava wowed his followers.
The BET award winner performed some of his hits including Uthando, Ngempela and Vura, which proved to be popular amongst the revellers on the evening. Songstress, Lady Zamar also did not disappoint on the night.
Her songs moved the youthful crowd as they sang along to Collide, It’s You Dreaming and My Baby, amongst others. It was left for Nasty C to move the hip-hop heads on the night. The youngster performed songs from his latest offering, Strings and Bling including S.M.A and Blisters.
The two hits proved not too popular with the crowd, but when he performed 2015 hit, Juice Song the crowd totally lost it. Local hero Vee Mampeezy did not want to go unnoticed. He turned back the hands of time when he brought Mosako, Mingo, Exodus and Eskimos to the stage during his set. They performed the all-time classics like Come Together, Tshaba Tsotsi and Makimo amongst others.
Other notable performances go to Prince Kaybee, E.D.M duo SauBomb and Drama Boi. Following a messy festival last year where one life was lost, the organisers this time around upped their ante in terms of security as by press time no injury or falality was reported.
