Speaking during the celebrations recently, the bank’s CEO Jaco Viljoen said the robust performance since they opened doors is a key testament to the many ways in which Capital Bank has grown.

“Since our arrival many Small Medium Enterprise customers have accessed credit and banking services from us forcing competition with the larger banks to gear up their service levels and provide finer pricing to their customer base,” he said.

Viljoen further said the bank continues to seek opportunities to contribute towards the growth of the nation even further adding that they are committed to contributing towards various stakeholders in the communities where they operate.

“In a decade, our growth as a business drove several developments towards the community. Now that we feel more grounded, we have slightly accelerated growth efforts,” he said.

The CEO said they recently made good and steady inroads into the personal lending space and increased business with very large corporates in Botswana.

“In its 10 years of existence in Botswana, Capital Bank has been, and continues to be, dedicated towards contributing to the growth and development of Botswana’s economy. We dedicate this milestone to our incredible clientele, partners, and stakeholders in Botswana and beyond,” he said.

The CEO also revealed their plans of opening three more loan centres in Kanye, Francistown and Palapye to make them four by end of this year in efforts to bring services closer to their customers.

As part of its celebrations, Capital Bank Botswana through its expansion strategy has acquired its second Head Office Building in the heart of the CBD. In addition Viljoen assured they will continue to deliver on their 2020 Strategy of building a sustainable business and keep working to reach increasingly higher levels of excellence.

When recently presenting the bank’s financial results for the year ended December 31, 2017, Viljoen said the bank is on track with its 2020 Strategy of realising double-digit growth for each financial year.

To attain this, the bank said it would continue to retain its focus on the commercial banking markets as well as maintain its current strategy, which has been working for the bank in the past five years.
