Ten identical keys were availed for each finalist but it was Kepaletswe’s lucky day as his key opened the car valued at P298,000. The 50-year-old simply bought a twelve pack of hunters at Mafenyatlala in Molepolole and months later he reaped even more from Hunter’s.

The man could not hide his happiness as he sat in the driver’s seat of his brand new car popularly nicknamed as Vrrr Phaa in the streets because of the sound it produces in the exhaust. In an interview with Showtime, Kepaletswe said he does not even drink alcohol but at the time he was buying the 12 pack for a friend. The man who was alongside his wife when winning the speedy German car said it was the grace of God. “I am speechless and I don’t even know whether to keep or sell it,” he said.

Other nine finalists did not walk home empty handed as they were given goodie bags, which included a twelve pack of Hunter’s among others. More than 30,000 customers in Liquarama Stores countrywide entered the competition.

Hunter’s launched the Win a Polo GTi competition as a continuation of their recently launched campaign “Bring The Heat”.

The concept taps into a common insight to the hustle of everyday life, that is; consumers are faced with daily challenges. Hunter’s urges them to embrace the heat that life brings by becoming ultimate Heat Seekers and simply go with the flow.

The competition was conducted from November 1 to December 31, 2016 in bottle stores and wholesalers nationwide where consumers were allowed an opportunity to join the Heat Seekers and stand a chance to win a Polo GTi when purchasing a 12 pack of any Hunter’s at participating stores. The pre-draw was held at Distell Offices with auditors, key account customers and the general public where 10 finalists were selected.

“Winning a cool and sexy car is an engaging and exciting concept which speaks, appeals and resonates with loyal Hunter’s consumers and is likely to recruit new consumers for the brand,” said Distell Botswana trade marketing manager, Lekgotla Ntshole. Consistency in refreshing high quality rewards and execution ensures a long lasting brand image in the consumers mind to motivate repeat purchase for increased sales.

Hunter’s sees its role as helping to give consumers a refreshed perspective to life. “We want our consumers to take life’s curveballs and remain upbeat and positive. The VW Polo GTi prize was a way to offer consumers an opportunity to refresh their life with a brand new car to hit the same streets that bring the heat,” Ntshole said.
