Do-or-die in Serowe

The battle in the Miscellaneous' backyard of Serowe promises to be a thrilling but tense affair. The Serowe outfit is intent on exacting revenge after a 2-0 defeat inflicted on them by TASC during the first round. Miscellaneous are two points ahead of TASC at the top of the log. A win for Miscellaneous tomorrow means they will get automatic promotion to the Premier League as champions of the First Division North. Defeat will mean that TASC are in pole position to return to the Premier League with a match to go.

Miscellaneous have missed promotion by a whisker in the last two seasons and are not prepared for another heart-break. Their coach, Mogomotsi 'Teenage' Mpote has said his team is fit and raring to go. 'If the boys follow instructions properly, we would be unstoppable come Saturday. My worry is that players can be inconsistent at times. This week, they will be playing good football and the next, they will be disappointing. But if things go according to plan, I do not see TASC stopping us,' he declared.

Club secretary general, Freedom Molosiwa, who ties the knot on match day, has asked the players to give him a perfect present by defeating TASC. 'All I ask is for the boys to win the game for me, as a wedding present,' he said. But TASC will be no easy prey. The former Premier League side want to complete a double over Miscellaneous and be in pole position to win promotion with only a game remaining after tomorrow's fixture. TASC public relations officer, Rapula Gaotlhobogwe said it would be a do-or-die encounter when they meet Miscellaneous. 'We are left with only two teams, Miscellaneous and Mahalapye Hotspurs, and we are forced to win the weekend encounter in order to climb to the top,' he said. He added that they do not want to go for the play-offs which means they have to defeat Miscellaneous to brighten their chances of automatic promotion. 'We know that Miscellaneous is a big team but we are going to fight with everything at our disposal. We cannot let them take points easily,' Gaotlhobogwe warned. His only worry is that two key players, Mthandazo Mthunzi and Matseme Diaparo got knocks when they crushed bottom of the log Palapye United 6-1 last weekend. But he is hopeful they will be available for selection tomorrow.
