Moroka is also the chairperson of Vision 2036 Presidential Task Team which is charged with the responsibility of chatting the path for the country’s economic fortunes. His voice is the voice of authority more so that he is formerly, a cabinet member.
“Ipelegeng is a policy that entraps people in poverty. No one will really graduate from Ipelegeng a better person,” Moroka blasted to a loud applause from the conference which proved that the over 400 delegates in the conference hall were in sync with him.
Debswana managing director, Balisi Bonyongo who was the moderator, gave Moroka a pat on the back for being frank with the issue: “This is how we should open up as you participate in this conference.”
He would then for a while shift to President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s concerns of the calibre of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) elected parliamentary hopefuls for 2019 general elections.
Moroka spoke of need for radical transformation whereupon even cabinet ministers can be picked from outside Parliament.
He then shifted his attention to the Vision 2036 in which he said it’s on the finalisation stage of the structure of the secretariat which will drive the national vision. He however, pointed out that Chris Molomo is the man in charge of the Vision 2036 office.
“Now, it’s time for the President to lead the Vision 2036 and I hope that he will accept the challenge and drive the national vision,” Moroka said.
Masisi was formerly in charge of the nation’s poverty eradication project which was a pet project of former president Ian Khama.
