“We have done our homework in the past break and we cannot wait for the weekend (league start),” TAFIC’s spokesperson Warrant Kolola said. “We had our players fine tuned this weekend with a meeting with psychologists to release the pressure that comes with being log leaders. We want them focused and we leave no room for complacency as we vie for top spot finish.”

Kolola said they have worked hard to retain a full squad to maintain a consistent challenge and he appreciated the second round will not be an easy ride. “We want everyone behind the team.

We must get the ball rolling with our first game. We are playing a series of away games after this weekend, it will be tough but we believe we have a team to withstand the challenges. We remain optimistic.”  TAFIC lead the log with 26 points, at par with Highlanders but ahead on goal difference. The two sides are three points clear of nearest rivals Motlakase Power Dynamos while former Premier League side, ECCO City Greens find themselves eight points behind. Chobe United and Sua Flamingoes are within the chasing pack on position four and five respectively.

TAFIC resume their title chase with a Francistown derby against Great North Tigers (GNT) at the Old Francistown Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The first round fixture saw TAFIC prevail 3-0.

Highlanders play hosts to unpredictable Maun Tigers at the Railway Grounds. The Mahalapye side won the earlier fixture 1-0. Third placed Motlakase welcome established giant slayer Real Movers. The two played to a stalemate in Selebi-Phikwe in the first round. Movers have also held TAFIC and Flamingoes to draws.

Flamingoes take a long trip to Kasane in the battle to reclaim fourth position after Chobe United leapfrogged them following a win over GNT recently. The flamboyant Flamingoes will be unveiling their new marksman, Bonolo Fraiser who signed from Orapa United.

Morupule Wanderers will also unveil a fresh side when they welcome TASC in the only Sunday fixture after Major David Bright executed a major revamp that saw 10 players joining the Palapye side in the transfer window that closed on Wednesday.
