The album titled Malebeswa meaning the truth in Kalanga is a follow up of his debut album Better Man, which was released four years ago.

“This is my second album and it’s different from the first one. I played around with different sounds to come up with a versatile sound. I took four years which is a long time working on the album so that I deliver quality music to the people,” Lizibo said.

The album comes after a long time when his fans have been yearning for new musical content from him. But at the same time the fans were not shy to enjoy his live performances at various events.

Renowned musician and producer Tshepo Lesole who has worked with Lizibo on a number of songs produced Malebeswa. On the 12-track album the Afro pop artists collaborated with a number of artists such as Sasa Klaas, Mosako, TV presenter Sadie Dikgaka and Ndingo Johwa.

“With the different collaborations the album has different sounds such as folk, gospel, kwaito and hip hop. The title Malebeswa simply defines myself, as a better man who tells the truth”. He noted that the collaboration with Ndingo Johwa is a bid to create a bridge between the old and new Kalanga music.

The musician noted that he has planned two mini launches for the album, the first one will be hosted at Jwaneng’s Cresta Lodge on Valentine ’s Day and the second at Palapye’s Majestic Five hotel.  He is set to perform on both events with his live band.

“I have decided to take the music outside Gaborone. This is why I am doing these launches in Jwaneng and Palapye. As musicians we have adopted this mentality of just launching and distributing our music in Gaborone yet there are also people outside GC,” he said.

Having said so he noted that he would also do the same in Gaborone and other places on a later date. Upon release Malebeswa will be available at different music stores and online music stores such as iTunes.

His debut album Better Man did fairly well as it earned bookings and features from different artists within the local music industry.
