“I remember very well that at the time of our rebranding and logo launch ceremony in 2013, I promised that ISBS will start home grown Degree Programmes which ISBS did and I am very proud to see today that we are having our first graduates graduating with our own home grown degrees namely Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Banking and Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management.” “In last 14 years, ISBS has produced graduates in various walks of life and most of them have made a very good and established names in various industries and I am very sure all of you (graduates) will do the same and make yourself as well as us proud from your future achievements” he said proudly. Zaaem added ISBS was one of the few institutes that have been accredited by BQA under the new legislation in 2017 saying that that talked about their adherence to quality and compliance with Legislation. Speaking of the corporate social responsibility, he explained that they were very committed and believed in shared value.

 He said they sponsored many social responsibility initiatives such as houses at SOS Village, sponsored free education to students from SOS village on year to year basis, adopted of Modipane Primary School, supported children’s ward at Princess Marina Hospital, supported numerous primary and secondary schools with their school events and celebrations to name a few.

On her keynote address, Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) CEO Verily Molatedi encouraged graduates to take advantage of the monetary solutions those entities such as Local Enterprise Authority (LEA), Citizen Entrepreneurship Agency (CEDA), and MYSC offers aspiring entrepreneurs as to diversified economy.  “As we are all aware the 21st century is awash with many opportunities and challenges. It is only the optimistic that can rise above and turn challenges into opportunities. I therefore urge you to acknowledge and take advantage of the Government efforts in providing facilities beyond tertiary education and contribute towards economic diversification. To this end some of you may have to be entrepreneurs. I encourage such minded people to approach different Government agencies such as the LEA and CEDA, whose doors are wide open,” she advised.

She told them that over 10,000 graduates annually were produced by tertiary institutions and therefore called upon them to make their skills attractive by innovative thinking and investing in their own personal brands. Molatedi said creating personal brands increased one’s chances of employability not just in Botswana but also even outside the country’s borders as by investing in their personal brand they placed themself above the crowd and remain competitive in the marketplace.
