Dintwa posted on social media that he chose love over the job and promised to fight for the love of life, posting a picture  of him and Panther cuddling under the sheets. The post came just days after both celebrities’ one-year contracts were not renewed.

Yarona FM has a code of conduct that bars colleagues from engaging in love affairs.

The station also has a strict policy on discipline, which has cost several celebrity presenters their jobs. Although not clear why, another popular DJ Dollar resigned immediately after the Bonni saga unfolded.

Dintwa’s social media rants showed how he clashed with the station. “I choose my woman over being a ‘manager’ at another man’s company. I never stop anyone following their heart dawg.

I choose her over everything. Money, power, everything. It’s really that simple,” he said in a comment on Facebook.

While Dintwa’s posts imply the two were fired for office romance, Panther told The Monitor that her contract was not renewed because there were on-going retrenchments at the station. She denied allegations that they were fired due to a workplace relationship. “That’s what I was told, there is nothing I can say further than that,” she said.

It is alleged that Yarona FM fears that these relationships, even if consensual, may ultimately result in conflicts in the workplace, hence the policy.

Dintwa was Panther’s superior at work, something management is said to have feared could lead to unprofessionalism.

Efforts to reach Yarona FM management for clarification were futile as their phones rang unanswered.
