The rally that was scheduled for 5pm on Friday was one of the Union’s scheduled nationwide workers’ rallies whose intention is to pave way for their (BOFEPUSU) structures across the country to organise nationwide demonstrations against a myriad of labour issues that the government continue to frustrate the trade Union movement with.

The nationwide tour by the BOFEPUSU leadership ran from January 23-27 and covered 31 major centres.

On Friday, an official from the Union’s Secretariat dipersed the few people who had gathered at the Gaborone Secondary School grounds. The lady said that an update will be released on when the rally will be held.

In December last year, at their special congress held in Tlokweng, BOFEPUSU congregants resolved among others, to return the fire and stage demonstrations against Government on a litany of labour-related issues that are refusing to die away under the current Government.

The Tlokweng special congress resolved to take the war to the government and the ruling party.

On day one, rallies led by the various BOFEPUSU leadership commenced in Lobatse, Ramotswa, Goodhope, Jwaneng, Moshupa and Kanye.

According to the schedule, day two (Jan 24), the various executives led rallies in Serowe, Kang, Letlhakane, Gumare, Mochudi and Molepolole, while day three (Jan 25) they were in Letlhakane, Verda, Palapye, Shakawe, Mahalapye.
