Boyfriend Waterboards Girlfriend, Hangs Himself

AAThe police suspect that the harrowing incidents happened on Wednesday night in Block 2. The acting station commander of Kutlwano police, assistant superintendent Alice Oabile said other tenants who live in the same rented compound with the deceased discovered the gruesome incidents on Thursday morning.

“The 24-year-old man is suspected to have killed his 19-year-old girlfriend by forcefully drowning her head in a bucket full of water. We believe that the girlfriend suffocated to death,” Oabile said.   “The man was found hanging on the rafters of the same room that he allegedly killed his girlfriend in.

Surprisingly, the incidents did not happen in the couple’s own rented room but in their friend’s room who lived within the same compound.” Oabile said they suspect a misunderstanding may have led to the lovers’ deaths.  Despite that, Oabile stated that their investigations are continuing to find out the cause(s) of the deaths. 

Oabile further said that no suicide note was found at the scene of the crime adding that it was premature to release the names of the deceased before the next of kins were informed. She advised lovers to seek help from the police, social workers, pastors, parents and elders in the society when they are having relationship problems in order to prevent unnecessary deaths.
