Ntlhaile emerges victorious

According to the letter written to the constituency by national election board chairperson, Jerry Rasetshwane, due to unbecoming behaviour by some members at the Khakhea ward rerun, there was another failure to announce the pending parliamentary results.

The letter shows that Ntlhaile got 1,396 votes, Oadira Tsietsi Kwenje 1,029 while Celsius Rambe got 1,366 votes.

Initial polls were held on August 18, 2018 and election officers stopped the counting of Khakhea ward due to some irregularities. Sources allege that some people voted multiple times in the same ward.

According to sources, there was exchange of blows in Khakhea recently during counting of ballots, which led to the parliamentary election being withheld. It is said party members attacked each other as they disagreed on the number of votes recorded. Jwaneng Unit V councillor Ronicah Ntsimako is alleged to have stabbed one of the party members during the fight.
