Digging Tswana Roots

Legend of bodimo: a mystery resolved (part3)

And as for their giant stature, I duly explained that it is now established fact that an astronaut grows by whole inches for every few weeks he or she spends in the weightlessness of space and that this is currently being monitored by NASA in their latest expedition to the International Space Station. The only remaining paradigm shift here is the notion that there were astronaut-giants even in pre-Flood days (i.e. before 10983 BC: the geologically correct time date of the Flood when the Ice Age peaked, leading to catastrophic tectonic movements that generated outsized tsunamis).

Did rockets and spaceflight indeed exist in great antiquity? According to ‘Forbidden Archaeology’ (so-named by Michael Cremo from direct experience) they did. A stunningly accurate sculpture of one, carved out of volcanic ash, was excavated with other artefacts belonging to the Uratru kingdom of some 4500 years ago (see www.bibliotecapleyades.net for its exhibition at the Turkish History Museum). The logical question is: if these people had never seen one before, how could they have depicted it so accurately …complete with a fully suited astronaut in the cockpit?

Other Forbidden Archaeology artefacts discovered around the world include intricate jewellery, a perfectly machined cube, a drill bit, iron gear wheels, and an aluminium gear-track – to mention but a few – all found fossilized in rock strata 250 million years old and more.

And who else but what ancient people called ‘gods’ would have left these fossilised traces behind?

Last week we learnt that one day, at around 50 000 BC, bo-dimo (whom Sumerian called ‘Igigi, and Nguni people call n’ging-gi due to the gi! gi! sound they made with their heavy footsteps) used the excuse of attending the wedding of the ‘god’ Marduk (later called ‘Baal’) to an ordinary human girl called Tsirpanit to instead abduct and marry ‘Earthling’ girls themselves. This legend is retold very skimpily in Genesis 6:1-4, but in greater detail in the apocryphal Book of Enoch, Chapter 6…but still not as detailed as in ‘mythological’ accounts.

The evident reason for the skimpiness is because in Abraham’s time, circa 2024 BC) the ‘gods’ introduced ‘monotheism’ to Abraham’s descendants with a view to eventually phasing out all notions of ‘gods’ as patronage to gods had only led to rivalry over people and territory, and nearly brought the gods to their knees (see story last week).

So, the tale had to be carefully retold to disguise all existence of flesh-and-blood ‘gods’…but compilers failed to completely disguise the original phrase ‘sons of the gods’ when they rendered it as ‘the sons of God’. And there is more.

In Part 2 I had labelled as ‘economical with the truth’ the blindly accepted story that everyone, including the children of the giants, was wiped out in the Great Flood leaving only Noah and his family as survivors.

According to Sumerian and Akkadian texts, towards 10983 BC, when Enlil the Leader of the Gods saw that disaster was imminent (evidently due to the fact that Earth was reaching its most extreme tilt-angle of 24.4 degrees) he called a meeting of the gods and made them all take an oath never to divulge this to all humanity. But, Enlil’s arch-rival Enki (who Enlil called a ‘serpent’…not least because his son Marduk had married Tsirpanit – Earth’s (Pan) Protector (tshiri) – but whose name Enlil also made synonymous with ‘serpent’, thus ‘Sarpanit’) took pity on Noah and his family and gave him instructions on how to build a submersible vessel that will survive the impending Flood. When the Flood at last came, “…by prearranged signal…crouched in their boats of heaven the Anunnaki (gods) to heaven were lofted.”

Now, since their astronaut-pilots were obviously the Igigi, should we be surprised if the Igigi – along with the other elite gods – survived the ravages of the Flood? But, so entrenched in Jewish history was the notion that only Noah and his family survived that when the new Israelite nation was fresh out of Egypt and a delegation was sent to spy out the Promised Land in Canaan (the ‘sacred’ site of several mountain silos in which the space rockets were hidden), their greatest and most discouraging shock was the sight of the Nephilim…alive and well!

Last week, I explained that ‘Nephilim’ is actually based on the term napalm ‘to descend’: Nne a pharama in original Global Protolanguage terms – which I have shown in many articles to be Setswana-like. Indeed, though they had certainly descended from up high, from space, they then went on to ‘lower’ themselves in the eyes of the gods by marrying ‘mortals’, hence the sarcastic play on words (pagama means ‘rise/ascend’ and pharama is ‘fall untidily’).

But what made bo-dimo a despised memory in many legends around the world was their behaviour when the extreme tilt of the Earth gave rise to an Ice Age that particularly hit the northern regions because there is more land mass towards the Poles there. Food became scarce and they would often swoop down on people and demand their meagre harvests.

This is when the term tsie (locust) began to be associated with bo-dimo, thus tsie-badimo (‘locust-gods’).

And as conditions worsened and harvests dwindled, they began to eat humankind instead. Funnily enough, though Tswana legend remembers man-eating giants, memories of such locust-gods have faded to the extent that when one is deemed to be talking fantasy, we say that he is ‘talking tsie-badimo’! On the contrary, in our last segment on bo-dimo we explore modern evidence that giants really did exist.
