The committee reportedly failed to account for the funds, and the chairperson, Mpenzeni Sambandawe, treasurer, Goodos Ketlogetswe and secretary general, Rapula Gaothobogwe face possible suspension.

The BFA has given the committee up to October 2, 2018 to account for the funds, which were meant for the clubs.

BFA second vice president, Marshlow Motlogelwa said it was normal procedure for the committee to account for the funds.

“We wrote a letter to the committee, advising them that they should account for the funds that they received last season. We have given them up to October 2, of which if they fail, action would be taken against them,” he said.

Motlogelwa said he could not reveal how much the committee should account for, but sources said the money was over P100,000.

Motlogelwa said the figure could only be revealed if the committee fails to account and the next step is taken.

He said a disciplinary hearing is a public process whereby all details are revealed.

However, the committee’s secretary general, Gaothobogwe said they had not received any communication from the BFA regarding the audit.

“I am not aware of such a letter from the BFA. We have done our audit and we have not heard anything from the BFA,” Gaothobogwe said yesterday.

Meanwhile, First Division South chairperson, Sydney Magagane said their financial report was in order and they did not face any problems with the BFA. He said they normally do their audit and submit to the mother body.
