Sefalana donates P80, 000 to Lephoi Centre

Sefcash operations director, Moagi Buzwani, said while the wholesaler helps a number of orphanages and other charities, they regret that they have not been able to give enough this time around, because of the challenges they faced last year.

'I am sure you can all agree that it has been a difficult year for all of us in the industry. In the past 12 months, we have seen many significant and potentially far reaching challenges and changes which will continue to impact our businesses for many years to come,' he explained.

He said that despite all these challenges both Sefcash and its banner groups have not looked back and found it compelling to assist the centre. The banner groups include the likes of Supa 7, Supa Deal, Citi Saver, Bonanza, Triple 7 and Pula Value stores.

'Banner group stores do not only provide service to the villages and areas where they are located but play an even bigger role by giving back to the communities in which they trade.

The idea of donating to charity was conceived in one of the banner meetings about 10 years ago,' explained Buzwani before presenting a P40, 000 cheque to the center.

Buzwani said they are humbled to play a role in assisting the centre in realising their dream of providing extra-curricular activities such as sports, music and recreation, which he said are prerequisites in the rehabilitation of visually impaired children.

Another member from the Sefcash group, Anthony Dancho said as business people this is their way of embracing the nation's vision 2016 pillar of being a caring nation.

'With trust in God, we hope that our humble contribution will help bring smiles to the faces of the little ones of Lephoi Centre and their dreams of having extra curricular activities and sports will be realised,' he concluded before handing over another P40, 000 cheque to Lephoi centre.

MP for Francistown South, Wynter Mmolotsi commended Sefcash for their generosity to people with disabilities and said such companies are of great benefit to the country as they bring in foreign direct investment as well as create employment.
