Crooner Lizibo, comic Motlha serenade charity dinner

The sold out event proved to be the place to be for entertainment and dinner with the likes of Lizibo and Motlha serenading the guests into the cool Friday night.
The stage was warmed up by Trompeta Jazz band and Brando who was the MC while DJ Devoy kept the music rolling between the musical acts.
After the scrumptious dinner, it was time for dance and the guests left their tables and moved closer to the performers and partied past midnight.
The Diamonds of Hope Association is a Jwaneng-based non-profit charity organisation registered by volunteers who seek to have a large impact on communities in Botswana.
Started three years ago, the association has already raised funds for communities in and around Jwaneng.
In 2015 they raised funds for student victims of the Matsha accident, while last year they built a house for a victim of the Moshupa floods.
Chairperson of the association, Nicholas Etamang said this year they seeking out underprivileged children in Jwaneng and surrounding villages to assist.
“We are in talks with Jwaneng authorities to help us identify where there is need and we will take the money raised and assist,” he said.
This year, Etamang said they sold 20 tables for 10 people each from corporates at P1,200 per person and to 100 individuals at P300 each and they were all sold out.
He further said popular music sensation, Lizibo and his brand had offered their service for free, while new kid-on-the-block, Motlha of the popular hit Mene mene tekele reduced his charge. “The equipment was also as good as free. Setup and deco was by Sethunya Moalo who has been offering her services free for the past three years. “Debswana also offered us the use of their club for free,” Etamang said, adding that this year’s event was somewhat bigger with more corporate presence than individuals.
