BNSC has appointed an interim Motorsport committee

The BNSC has been running the affairs of the motorsport after the former executive committee was dissolved late last year.

The interim committee is made up of John Carr-Hartley, Dr Pearl Lebatha, Ivorene Wheeler, Tunku Motsumi and Peter Moakofi who will lead the association for the next 12 months.

The new BMS committee is expected to have its first meeting today.

Among issues to be discussed is the year plan and budget allocations, review of the constitution and to set a date for the executive election.

BMS former executive committee, led by Simon Modisaeman made headlines for the wrong reasons as they were accused of misuse of office.

The committee took office in 2014, but failed to call an annual meeting several times last year, something that did not go down well with affiliates.

This forced the sports commission to carry internal investigations and a financial audit. The investigations unearthed irregularities in the running of the sport.

These developments prompted the local sport governing body, BNSC to dissolve the committee late last year and took over all the affairs of the association.

BNSC chief executive officer, Falcon Sedimo said he was still engaged in work related activities and requested a written enquiry.

At press time, Sedimo had not responded to the questionnaire.

Previously, BNSC chairman, Solly Reikeletseng had told Mmegi Sport that BMS had been given six months to sort out their differences.
