Pack Charlie murder case delayed for psychiatric assessment

This time the delay is to allow the prosecution to send him for psychiatric assessment.

Charlie, believed to be a drug addict, is alleged to have stabbed his own mother to death with a knife in June this year at Ginger-Broadhurst location in Gaborone. 

Appearing for mention today before Broadhurst Magistrate’s Court, Charlie’s case could not continue, as the prosecution is yet to send him for psychiatric assessment booked for next year at the Sbrana Psychiatric Hospital. 

Asked if he has anything to say Charlie, who sounded incoherent, senselessly mumbled for almost 15 minutes.

Magistrate Tshepo Thedi said there is noway she would continue with the case until she has Charlie’s psychiatric assessment report in her possession.
