He was the talk of the town during the festive season and many hailed him for his Good Samaritan gestures while haters criticised him for the reckless spending. While he made it clear from the beginning that ‘go reka ene’ people have suddenly forgotten about him now that the festive season is over.

To reclaim his prestige back, Moreki will now head to the annual the Homing Coming Concert (HCC) Appreciation Party this coming Saturday at Morwa Rec Park previously known as Masakeng.

In case you were wondering, it will not be Moreki per say but it will be none other than the South African musician King Monada, the man behind the hit song O seka bora moreki which caused major havoc during the festive season.

He will be accompanied by a strong line-up of local artists among others Vee Mampeezy who also had a busy festive. Vee was the first person to bring King Monada to Botswana for the first time during his album launch last December.

Vee will aim to push his I do album even more after being nominated for the Metro FM awards as well as being named the brand ambassador of JB Sport recently.

In an interview with Showbiz, DJ Easy B of HCC said they brought back the O seka bora moreki hitmaker because he was the top trending artist during the festive season. “We always stick with trending artists and with this event we want to appreciate HCC fans for their support,” he said.

DJ Easy said the appreciation party brings together everyone including organisers of other events to create unity. Addressing some people’s concerns on why the show is not held in Mahalapye like the mother show, DJ Easy B said they have tried it before but it never works. “We can’t make that mistake because Home Coming fans are people who come home for the holidays but return to work after the festive,” he said. He also said the appreciation party will also cater for people who did not attend the HCC in the December.

Other artists on the line-up include MMP Family, Mosako, Chrispin The Drummer, NT Base, Ricky Lamar, DJ Izzy, Zoo, Maths, Ozzy The Great, Stomps, Team Distant, DJ Teaz, Easy B, DJ Brown, Hapex Guru and DJ Rox. The MCs will be Loungo and T.H.A.B.O. Single ticket is sold at P100 while a double ticket is P150.
