The rapper formerly known, as Mista Doe is one of the first local rappers to be recognised by Channel O and even went to win a Channel O award.

“I haven’t been releasing tracks more often but that will come to change this year, I will release more songs and an album this year.  It’s not like I have been inactive, I have been around recording songs.  It’s just that when you are not performing at live shows people will be thinking that you are inactive,” the Hot 2 Death rapper said.

He noted that the reason why he has not been releasing any new material is because he felt it was not yet the proper time to do so for the audience was not yet ready for his content. The other reason being that he had to focus on the grind and put food on the table.

Despite the rap game adopting new sounds such as Trap, Fosta Juliano noted that he still believes in his signature sound, which is Boom bap.

“I was raised on Boom bap and it helped in horning my skill, I will still maintain my sound.”

Despite saying that he is maintaining his signature sound Fosta Juliano noted that he has also explored and played around with other sounds while recording.

Having noted that he has a number of recorded tracks, the rapper has been working with a number of producers such as Rimzy, Yung Fella and veteran producer, Prez Beatz. The rapper has already released a street single titled 2016 Reflections where talks of the various activities that took place in the local rap game last year.

On the song, he gives thumbs up to young rappers such as Drama Boi who have maintained the mainstream hip hop sound despite new trends.

He also talks of how Scar has managed to stand on his feet in the rap game from day one till today.

As one of the local G. O. A. T (Greatest Of All Time) rappers he shared his views on the current state of local hip-hop, which he is not happy about.

“Overall I am not impressed, everyone wants to sound the same. If you notice the songs have the same sequence, vibe, topic and delivery. Radios are not even playing new sounds they are playing the same sound without anything new. Back then radio played a major role in bringing the new sound to the listeners.”

This rapper has previously released projects such as The Soprano in 2005, The Unmixed Tape (with DJ Khenzo) in 2010 and Reetsa Molao EP in 2014, which was only available online.

With Fosta Juliano having said he will be releasing an album, does this mean that 2017 is the year of OGs since rappers such as Apollo D and Zeus have also stated that they will be dropping albums this year?
