“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of a great icon of our sport, Mrs Matshidiso Moses (nee Osi).  Tshidi has been serving as an assistant junior national team coach and as a secretary general for her beloved Smash Maniacs.

As a player, Matshidiso had longevity and played at the highest level, winning countless medals and accolades.

She was a constant member of our national team and represented the country at international competitions and proudly wore the Botswana colours for many years. Indeed she earned her stripes,” BTTA said in a statement.

BTTA secretary general, Bolokang Pema said they would meet with the family to learn more information about the funeral arrangements.

Tshidi has represented all the national junior teams and the senior national team, before she retired from active playing and took up coaching.

Upon gaining her coaching badges, the Maniacs’ legend oversaw the development of the sport from both the club and national levels.  She was instrumental in the development of youngsters,  Tlotlo Kgosimore, Bakang Maloka and former BISA Under-20 champion, Boago Malobela. Prayers are being held at her home in Tlokweng.
