Butale gets a rerun

Butale suffered a shock defeat to novice politician Simon Moabi during the initial Bulela Ditswe primary elections held on August 25, 2018.
The incumbent however did not despair and proceeded to launch an appeal against the results, claiming irregularities.On Thursday, the regional secretary Thatoyaone Kehitile wrote to Butale informing him about the success of his appeal.
'Having considered your appeal the regional committee in its findings came to the conclusion to grant a rerun for the Tati West parliamentary elections, after establishing that there was a contravention of Section 9 (a) of the Botswana Democratic Party primary elections rules and regulations thus bringing Section 9 (f) into effect,' Kehitile wrote to Butale.
