Justice Dibotelo who served as a judge of the High Court for 13 years and seven years as Chief Justice, retired from office in April 2018 at the age of 70.Reports reaching Mmegi have it that Dibotelo has been appointed on a two-year contract and had just returned from Namibia where he already presided over a case.

State attorney, Neo Sharp confirmed Dibotelo’s appointment yesterday at the Industrial Court, where he is scheduled to give evidence as a State witness in a case where former President, Ian Khama is sued for dismissing a magistrate.

Sharp, earlier on before the case resumed, told court that he was not sure when they will be able to get hold of him as he has been appointed to be a judge in Namibia.

“Justice Dibotelo is a busy man as he has just been appointed to the Supreme Court of Namibia. It will be difficult to bring him to court and we are not sure when he will be available,” she said.

Dibotelo, in his earlier years served as a civil servant and practising attorney before becoming a judge and eventually a Chief Justice.Reaching for Justice Dibotelo proved futile at the time of going to press.
