The 32-years-old energetic DJ will drop his single titled Big Spender featuring the sweet melodic vocals of Candi.
The single is an urban house track and to make it more distinct the DJ used a house style called Full Vocal House.
DJ Colastraw told Showbiz that Big Spender is a song dedicated to husbands who spoil their wives with vacations.
“The single is simply about a husband who takes out his wife for a luxurious holiday and spends on her,” he said.
He said that the single was inspired by real life stories of husbands who pamper their wives to make them feel special.
Big Spender was produced at Colastraw Records, and was mixed and mastered by Citizen Deep in South Africa.
The disc jockey said that his target market for the single includes urban market and house music lovers.
He said that his biggest challenge is the evolution of technology, giving an example of the usage of Compact Disc (CD).
“Nowadays CD’s are outdated and it does not make sense to release music on CD’s because currently only a small percentage of music consumers own CD players. People are using the modern technology of the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and other advanced music storages. So in order to make profit through my music I opt to release my project online using websites operating as music stores,” he said.
DJ Colastraw is famed for being the owner of Colastraw Records Company, Colastraw Records DJ Academy and the annual Toropo Ya Muka music festival.
He has 16 years in the music industry and has multiple hits under his belt including Time After Time, which is a house mix sound and Kalahari dance floor.
The popular DJ has worked with South African (SA) big brands such as Revolution, DJ Mbuso, Durban’s Finest and Mo-Flava.
Sheer House in SA once featured him in two successful projects.
