Masisi, who is also the party chairperson, was speaking at the BDP rally at Palapye United (PU) grounds on Friday where he advised the electorates to support their candidate even if they do not like him and also give love to those who stood and lost against him in the party primary elections. He said by voting him on January 21, they would be doing the party justice.

Dimeku will be contesting against Botswana Congress Party (BCP)’s Area Gabathuse.

“Continue to support Dimeku because he is standing for a strong party. BDP is forever; hence if one does not like a candidate they must atleast like the party. Stand for each other, support each other, be a BDP day and night. You need a representative who will represent you and the party at the council,” Masisi said.

The Vice President further urged the party members to protect Dimeku by speaking well about him. He said BDP members must not be afraid of BCP saying it is already a dead party.

“BDP grows everyday whilst BCP reduces its numbers each day. So for us to continue growing we should continue accepting them when they come to us,” he said. He added that BDP members should be patient when recruiting and registering BCP members into the party.

Masisi further advised members of Domkrag to protect the party everywhere because whatever developments have been done in the country is because of it, saying voting BCP would be delaying the work that was already started by the former councillor, the late Richie Kenosi. He also urged Dimeku to bootlick the party for his own success saying for that the party and the electorates will love him.

He said BDP must retain the ward because opposition parties do not have initiatives and it will be a waste if they win. He described Dimeku as the right candidate who have leadership skills and shall put the youth forwad once given a vote. He said the electorates must not break President Ian Khama, Master Goya and Dimeku chain.

The chairperson of Palapye Administrative Authourity (PAA) also councillor for Mogome-Mokgware ward, Lesedi Phuthego also begged the electorates to vote for BDP saying Kenosi’s space must be filled by a democrat.

He said they do not need opposition councilors anymore in PAA, saying the four they have are enough. He said Dimeku is fit to lead, as he has volunteered in many organisations and knows issues surrounding his electorates. He called on the voters to protect the future of their children by voting Domi.

On his part, Dimeku pleaded for a vote saying he will follow the former councilors’s roots, saying the party is working hard to resolve problems in the ward. However, he said he could not promise the moon and stars as opposition parties do.

Dimeku further stated that the electorates have a choice to make their own decisions but if they want to taste the pain of being led by opposition they must vote Gabathuse.
