Kapinga was speaking at the launch of Botswana Congress Party(BCP) candidate for Boikago/Madiba ward by-election Area Gabathuse over the weekend.

He said President Ian Khama and other Botswana Democratic Party(BDP) leaders are doing exactly what they always denounce Zimbabwean President for, saying there is absolutely no difference between President Khama and Robert Mugabe.

“We have to be in control of our country because it is ours. We should stop giving the President the impression that he owns the country. Otherwise we will end up like our neighbours migrating to other countries in search of greener pastures.  It’s evident from so many recent job losses that we are heading that way. Therefore we cannot continue to turn the blind eye on the hands of a bully and the oppressor let us do it for our children,” he said.He further stated that the country should prepare to fight in 2019 because it is very common for the corrupt and oppressor to refuse to step down from their position, as they know that jail awaits them for their devious deeds.

He also pointed out that the President is the enemy of employees and uses the divide and rule policy to divide the trade unions with their followers.

“There are those whose salaries have been increased and others received nothing only because they speak against oppression. They say we are leaving in a democratic country however when you speak your mind you are seen as an enemy one of the reasons why those in trade unions are the ones suffering the most,” Kapinga said.

He added: “BDP’s time has elapsed, it is no longer relevant. It is time for a change, so it starts here by casting your vote for Gabathuse who has your interest at heart and when we take over in 2019 national elections he would have restored all that have been destroyed by BDP in Boikago/Madiba ward.  Let’s stop their destruction before it gets out of control and make a better tomorrow for our children by removing BDP”.

Former Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) MP for Lobatse Nehemiah Modubule also shared the same sentiments with Kapinga saying that the government comes from afar with failure. He said that Khama has managed to show them the devil in this government emphasising that he would rather see people suffering while protecting his interests.

“We have struggled against this regime, and we are still struggling today. However, I am happy today that Khama has made us see the devil in this government and it is my believe you are also as tired as I am hence will do the right thing on January 21 for Boikago/Madiba ward by-elections,” he said.
