The national team captain has hit a rough patch this season with a single goal in 12 league games thus far. He scored through a penalty against Security Systems. The former Bloemfontein Celtics skipper’s rough spell has resulted in some supporters turning against him where they celebrate each time he is hauled off but boo when he is introduced.

Mogorosi was booed when he was introduced for Segolame Boy against Gilport Lions on Saturday.

But coach, Mogomotsi ‘Teenage’ Mpote insists the supporters’ behaviour, just like his predecessor, Mark Harrison maintained, will not influence his selection.

“Mogorosi is my player. I will pick him based on how he performs at training.

Him starting on the bench does not mean that I go with what is said about him. He is my player,” the Rollers coach said. Mogorosi started 10 of the 12 games that he played under Harrison.

Mpote is expected to persist with Mogorosi and declared after their weekend game that he is going to introduce a different philosophy to the players, as he is a fan of good football.
