Flying Flamingoes Humiliate Miserable Motlakase

The victory was a statement of intent by the Salt Boys after promotion eluded them by a whisker last season. Flamingoes coach, Dominique Changwe who was happy with the result said the play is not up to scratch yet. He said their intention was to go all the way.
“I am happy we could manage an important result against a side that we know will challenge for the league but our squad is not cohesive yet,” he said.
“If we could get the next three games on a roll when we are still trying to get the whole squad to gel then will be in for an amazing season that we wish for.”
Flamingoes settled quickly in the match and held nothing back. They pressed the hosts on to the back foot from the first minute. They closed the pockets and ensured Motlakase doesn’t link passes.
Motlakase was chasing the game and looked a shadow of the team that trampled Morupule in the past weekend.
From their threats in the opening five minutes, Flamingoes had a corner and a free kick. Thabiso Bante saw his headed effort from the free kick rattled the crossbar. It took Chouka 10 minutes to pose a threat in the Flamingoes box. Itumeleng Mabuaaeme posted a pinpoint cross to Thapelo Chabalala who climbed well but redirected into the goalkeeper’s gloves.
Bante responded two minutes later with a strong header, Motlakase’s goalkeeper who looked shaky, parried onto Monametsi Tsapoga’s path and the latter’s effort hit the upright.
Chouka’s luck ran out on the 12th minute. The left wing forward, Ngwako Ramokgathadi drilled a ball into the box and Tsapoga did enough with his thigh to break the deadlock.
Six minutes later, the ever-threatening Bante opened his account.
Witness Livingstone posted along free kick to the far end, cushioned with a header for Bante inside the 16-yard box and he made no mistake. It could have been three two minutes later, but Tsapoga who went one-on-one against the goalkeeper failed a connection and his tame shot was easily collected.
Motlakase committed many errors and could have had the worst half in their books had the visitors been clinical.
Momentarily, the hosts looked a rejuvenated side from the dugout. They had two chances in quick succession but failed to profit. Flamingoes set back and absorbed the attacks and they killed the game 13 minutes into the second stanza.
Chouka’s goalkeeper who looked suspect the entire encounter parried Gaotwesepe Ralegoreng’s long free kick into the packed box and took the initiative to grab a brace.
After the goal Flamingoes was happy to sit back, they repelled well and watched Motlakase Motlakase toil. The host made attempts but their forward men were shooting ducks until the last whistle.
Flamingoes’ goalkeeper had a quite game. Chouka’s coach Letlogile Seoforeng acknowledged the strength of his opponents and blamed the loss on defensive blunders. “Loose marking in the box cost us this game. We tried chasing the game in the second half and we were vulnerable at the back, they are a good side and they punished us,” he said.
