Police XI who have been struggling for the past two seasons, appear to be found the winning formula this season under new coach, Mike Sithole.

On Saturday they defeated Orapa United 3-1, sending another clear message of their intentions this season. On paper, Orapa United were expected to maintain their winning streak and pile pressure on log leaders.

However, they found The Jungle Kings in mean mood. It was Police XI’s fourth victory in eight games. They have since moved into position six.

Orapa United on the other hand now lost a chance to close the gap at the top. Despite reports of players threatening not to honour the match on Saturday due to unpaid salaries, Sharps Shooting Stars still managed to get a victory over Black Forest.  It was their fifth win of the season and are now only three points behind log leaders, Rollers. The result leaves Black Forest in a precarious situation. The once entertaining side has lost a number of good players in the past two seasons and has struggled to cope with the situation this season.

They have won only two games out of eight, losing the rest of the six matches. After a slow start to the season, Premier League returnees, BR Highlanders are now hitting a top gear with yet another important victory on Saturday.

They defeated Security Systems who have also found the going tough this season. The win moved them to position 10 on the log while Systems dropped to position 14.  Notwane piled more misery on Sankoyo Bush Bucks with a 2-0 win in Maun. Sankoyo remain rooted at the bottom of the log with only two points from eight games.  Philemon Makhwengwe kicked off his Gaborone United (GU) career with a resounding 3-0 win over his former employers, Prisons XI.  Makhwengwe joined GU recently after the election of a new executive committee. Extension Gunners used home ground advantage as they thumped Miscellaneous 3-1 to stay in the top eight bracket.
